Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Tic Text Toc browser extension handles user data. This extension is designed to keep your data local, we do not collect or transmit your snippets, notes, or settings to our servers unless you explicitly choose to submit feedback or use an optional feature that posts data to a third‑party form endpoint.
Data We Access and Store
- Local browser storage: the extension stores your snippets, notes, categories, and settings in your browser using localStorage and Chrome's chrome.storage.sync APIs.
Do we collect or transmit your data?
No. By default the extension does not collect, transmit, or sell your snippets, notes, or settings to any server or third party. Your data remains in your browser and (if you use sync) in your Google account via Chrome's sync service.
Optional feedback or form submissions
The extension includes optional feedback forms (for example, an uninstall feedback page). If you choose to submit feedback using those forms, the contents you enter will be sent to the form endpoint configured in that page (for example a FormSubmit or a custom server). Submitting feedback is entirely voluntary and is the only case where content you type into a form may be transmitted off your device.
Third‑party services and servers
Unless you submit a feedback form, we do not use third‑party analytics, trackers, or external servers to process your snippet data. If you configure or enable any optional service that sends data (for example a feedback endpoint or an external backup service), that action is explicit and opt‑in.
How to delete your data
You can remove your data at any time by:
- Using the extension's Settings → Clear All Data option (if available).
- Uninstalling the extension and clearing related site data from Chrome.
- Manually clearing browser storage (Developer tools → Application → Local Storage / Extension storage).
Security
All stored data stays in your browser. We recommend not storing highly sensitive data (passwords, credit card numbers) in snippets. If you use Chrome Sync, that data is stored with your Google account and is subject to Google's sync and encryption policies.
